Full Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the oversight, management, and operational effectiveness of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, product staging, and coordination of product pickups, deliveries, and returns from vendors and job sites. This role owns the daily operation of the warehouse and ensures materials are accurately received, organized, tracked, and available to support project schedules, installation requirements, and customer delivery requirements.

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining efficient warehouse processes, improving inventory accuracy, managing operational purchasing, developing employees, monitoring performance, managing vendor relationships, overseeing budgets and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role ensures the warehouse operates in an organized, safe, and productive manner while supporting the company’s overall operational goals and fulfillment requirements.

This role is also responsible for ensuring all safety practices are followed during the loading, unloading, handling, and transportation of products received, picked up, and/or delivered. The Warehouse Manager maintains the safe operating condition of all vehicles, equipment, and warehouse operations while promoting a safety-focused work environment throughout the warehouse and field in compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.

POSITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, storage, product staging, material handling, and fulfillment activities.
Ensure inventory accuracy through proper tracking, organization, cycle counts, reporting, and corrective actions.
Coordinate product flow to ensure materials are available and staged appropriately to support projects schedules and installation requirements.
Optimize warehouse layout, product flow, storage processes, and material handling procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve warehouse operating procedures, workflows, and systems.
Manage warehouse resources, including staffing, scheduling, equipment, and operational expenses, to meet business demands.
Recruit, train, coach, and develop warehouse team members while maintaining accountability for performance and productivity.
Lead and support warehouse leads and team members to ensure daily priorities, quality standards, and operational goals are achieved.
Monitor vendor performance, establish vendor relationships, and address issues related to receiving, deliveries, and product availability.
Identify and coordinate operational purchases necessary to support warehouse activities.
Oversee logistics related to product transportation, including coordination with drivers, delivery partners, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate movement of materials.
Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
Develop and maintain reporting workflows, including KPIs, productivity metrics, inventory accuracy, operational performance, and improvement opportunities. Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching discussions, and operational meetings to improve efficiency and accountability.
Partner with operations, purchasing, project management, production, and installation teams to identify challenges and proactively resolve issues.
Maintain compliance with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and applicable regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; English required, bilingual preferred.
Ability to collaborate effectively with employees, vendors, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability and ownership.
Comfortable providing frequent direct written and verbal feedback.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Reports to: Vice President of Operations
Direct reports: All warehouse personnel and support staff assigned to warehouse operations

EDUCATION / QUALFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or fulfillment experience required.
Minimum 2-3+ years of supervisory or management experience in a warehouse or logistics environment required.
Proven experience leading teams in a warehouse, fulfillment, or operational environment.
Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), preferably Odoo, RF scanning devices, and Microsoft Office.
Strong knowledge of warehouse procedures, inventory management practices, safety standards, and operational policies.
Experience within the cabinetry, millwork, woodworking, construction materials, building products, or related industries preferred.
Forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 75+ pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday while overseeing warehouse operations.
Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods while completing reports, scheduling, planning, and administrative tasks.
Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist while inspecting inventory, equipment, and warehouse operations.
Ability to safely navigate a large warehouse environment, including walking between departments and work areas.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed to inspect operations and equipment.
Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers.
Ability to visually inspect products, equipment, and work areas for quality, safety, and operational compliance.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, drivers, and management in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in varying warehouse conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures.
