Full Job Description

Civil Litigation Legal Assistant

We are looking for a full-time legal assistant to add to our team. The position is strictly litigation-focused. We offer a comfortable and professional office environment located in the Tri-City Corporate Centre.

Responsibilities: Drafting, filing, and serving pleadings, discovery, and discovery responses; calendar and deadline control; collaborating with attorneys, support staff, clients, experts, and vendors to accomplish assigned tasks; managing deadlines and task follow-up; coordinating depositions, including drafting and serving notices/subpoenas; maintaining litigation files including client materials, pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and related documents; ordering, inventory, and review of medical records; assisting with the preparation of discovery responses and related documents; assisting with preparation of trial materials, jury instructions, motions, and exhibits; and completing other litigation related projects as assigned.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, possess excellent written/verbal communication skills and have at least 2 years of civil litigation experience, able to multi-task, prioritize, collaborate, delegate, meet deadlines, and work successfully in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team. The candidate should be proficient in Word and Outlook. Working knowledge of Excel is beneficial. The candidate must be knowledgeable and skilled in court filings, Federal, State, and local court rules.
