Financial Operations Analyst Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting and Financial Operations Analyst to join our team. This position is ideal for an accounting or finance professional with strong reconciliation experience, proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, and a solid understanding of general accounting principles to support financial data analysis.

The Financial Operations Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of our financial data through workflow and account audits, supporting month-end close activities, and performing key analyses on account funding and revenue/expense targets on actual and forecasted figures. Initially, this role will focus heavily on account reconciliations and analysis within both QuickBooks and Excel as we work through various accounting projects and process improvements.

Responsibilities

Perform account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, balance sheet, and general ledger accounts
Analyze and research discrepancies and work to resolve outstanding issues
Maintain accurate financial records within QuickBooks as necessary
Prepare and post journal entries
Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
Prepare and maintain Excel schedules, reports, and supporting documentation
Perform regular internal audits on accounts payable, receivable, and ledger entries to detect discrepancies, unauthorized transactions, or process errors.
Research and resolve complex transaction variances by collaborating across departments to fix underlying billing or data entry issues.
Monitor and manage cash balances across client-funded accounts to ensure adequate levels for operational needs
Assist with external audit requests and financial reporting requirements
Maintain organized accounting records and documentation
Support special projects and process improvement initiatives
Perform other accounting or finance duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related analytical-focused field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
2-4 years of accounting experience preferred
Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks & Excel is required
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis features
Experience using AI tools to enhance work productivity and efficiency is preferred
Strong reconciliation and account analysis experience
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Highly motivated self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with robust data pattern recognition abilities to highlight financial insights
Excellent written and verbal cross-functional communication skills

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
