Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, customer-focused, and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our aerospace manufacturing team. This role serves as the primary liaison between our customers, production planning, and internal departments to ensure seamless communication, accurate order management, and on-time delivery performance.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the Planning Department to monitor customer requirements, coordinate production schedules, communicate delivery commitments, and proactively resolve issues affecting customer satisfaction. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a solid understanding of manufacturing operations and ERP systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding orders, delivery schedules, product inquiries, and service-related concerns.
Partner closely with Production Planning to communicate customer demand, order priorities, schedule changes, and delivery requirements.
Monitor open orders and coordinate with planning, procurement, production, quality, and shipping departments to ensure on-time delivery.
Review and confirm customer purchase orders, order changes, cancellations, and expedite requests accurately within ERP systems.
Provide customers with order acknowledgments, shipment updates, lead times, and status reports.
Review production schedules and inventory availability to support customer commitments and delivery expectations.
Proactively identify potential delays or supply chain disruptions and communicate impacts and recovery plans to customers.
Maintain accurate customer records, pricing information, order documentation, and correspondence.
Assist with forecasting information by sharing customer demand trends and requirements with the Planning team.
Support problem resolution related to quality concerns, shortages, shipping discrepancies, and returns.
Collaborate with manufacturing and planning teams to prioritize orders based on customer requirements and production capacity.
Generate and analyze customer service metrics, delivery performance reports, and order backlog reports.
Ensure compliance with aerospace industry quality standards and company procedures.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of customer service, order management, account coordination, or customer support experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience within aerospace, aviation, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries preferred.
Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent platforms.
Understanding of production planning, supply chain processes, inventory management, and manufacturing operations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong customer relationships.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to interpret production schedules, lead times, and delivery commitments.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting aerospace manufacturing customers and OEMs.
Familiarity with MRP systems and production scheduling processes.
Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards and aerospace industry requirements.
Experience managing customer portals and electronic order processing systems.
