Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs to ensure precise and efficient machining of metal components. Your expertise will directly contribute to producing high-quality parts using advanced CNC machinery, including 5-axis CNC machines and CNC lathes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, apply your mechanical knowledge, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Develop and write CNC programs using Mastercam to translate engineering drawings into machine instructions.
Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining.
Set up CNC machining tools, fixtures, and tooling on machines like CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, ensuring optimal performance.
Program and operate 5-axis CNC machines, and other advanced machining equipment to produce complex parts with high precision.
Conduct precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments for quality control purposes.
Optimize machining processes by applying lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Troubleshoot programming issues or mechanical problems during production runs and implement corrective actions promptly.

Requirements

Proven experience in CNC programming for metal machining environments with a strong understanding of CNC lathe and milling operations.
Proficiency in Mastercam software, for programming complex parts.
Hands-on experience with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems.
Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T standards, and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
Familiarity with CNC tooling setup, geometry calculations, and machining tool selection to achieve precise results.
Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret engineering schematics accurately.
Experience working with 5-axis CNC machines.
Ability to perform precision measurement using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMMs, and other measurement tools for quality assurance.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and improve productivity.
Excellent math skills essential for programming accuracy and measurement calculations.
