Full Job Description

Position Overview

The People Experience Advisor (HR Generalist) is a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for supporting employees and leadership across a broad range of HR functions. This role serves as a trusted resource for employee relations, onboarding, leaves of absence, performance management, policy administration, and HR compliance while maintaining a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service.

This position is ideal for an adaptable, proactive HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, building relationships, and continuously improving processes.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & HR Support

Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers.
Ensure consistent administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
Address employee relations concerns and conduct workplace investigations when necessary.
Partner with management on performance management, employee inquiries, and workplace issues.
Communicate regularly with employees to promote engagement and a positive workplace culture.

Onboarding & Employee Development

Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding.
Maintain accurate employee personnel records in both electronic and paper formats.
Assist with training and development initiatives.
Support performance review processes and track completion to ensure consistency and timeliness.

Benefits, Leave Administration & Compliance

Provide guidance regarding benefits, open enrollment, and employee leave programs.
Manage the full leave-of-absence process, including:
FMLA
CFRA
PDL
Workers' Compensation
Assist with payroll-related matters, benefit deductions, and benefits administration.
Support wage and hour audits and ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.

HR Operations & Process Improvement

Process employee terminations and related documentation.
Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
Coordinate facility communications and performance updates.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and administrative efficiencies.
Escalate complex HR matters to senior HR leadership when appropriate.

Employee Engagement & Culture

Coordinate volunteer, social, and fundraising initiatives.
Support and promote company culture, values, and employee engagement efforts.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and ethical work environment.

Success Metrics

Respond to HR inquiries within 24 hours.
Monitor retention trends and proactively address turnover concerns.
Participate in attendance and call-off reduction initiatives.
Ensure performance reviews are completed accurately and on schedule.
Maintain consistent compliance with HR policies and company standards.

Qualifications

Required

Minimum 1 year of HR Generalist experience supporting a high-volume workforce.
Strong understanding of employee relations and HR best practices.
Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Experience administering FMLA, CFRA, PDL, Workers' Compensation, and other leave programs.
Experience supporting warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environments.

Work Environment

This role combines office-based HR responsibilities with regular interaction in a warehouse environment. Candidates should be comfortable walking the floor, engaging with employees, and occasionally working in conditions that may include dust, noise, temperature changes, and elevated work areas.
