Administrative Associate — DuMouchelles Auction House (Detroit)

For nearly 100 years, DuMouchelles has been a trusted name in fine art, jewelry, and luxury estate auctions in the heart of downtown Detroit. We connect collectors and consignors around the world with exceptional, fresh-to-market pieces every month.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Administrative Associate to support our front and back-office operations. You'll be the first point of contact for clients and consignors, keep our auction operations running smoothly, and help manage accounts receivable and shipping logistics. This is a great fit for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing role and enjoys variety — no two weeks look the same, since our work cycle follows the auction calendar.

What You'll Do

Greet clients by phone and at the front desk; monitor shared inboxes and route questions to the right team member
Support auction preparation and auction-day operations, including clerking and phone/console bidding
Handle shipping inquiries — estimates, order lookups, documentation (driver's licenses, BOLs, payment verification)
Accept customer payments and manage accounts receivable follow-up, including outreach on past-due balances
Keep office supplies stocked, the reception and mezzanine area tidy, and equipment issues reported
Pitch in on general office and administrative support as needed

What You Bring

5+ years of relevant office/customer service experience
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Excellent verbal and written communication
High attention to detail and strong follow-through
Ability to problem-solve independently and handle confidential information

Schedule

Part-time, approximately 120 hours/month. Weekly hours coincide with Auction Schedule.
Onsite required, with flexibility during our regular business hours and availability during peak auction times each month.
Our regular business hours are Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM.
