Bather/Receptionist Job Summary
Shaila's Pet Grooming & Spa is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Bather/Receptionist to join our growing team. This position plays a vital role in creating an exceptional experience for both our clients and their pets. Core Responsibilities
- Bathe, brush, dry, and prepare pets for grooming appointments.
- Perform nail trims, nail grinding, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and other bathing services.
- Safely handle pets of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments using proper restraint techniques.
- Monitor pets for signs of stress, illness, or injury and report concerns immediately.
- Clean and sanitize bathing tubs, kennels, grooming tools, dryers, and workstations throughout the day.
- Keep the salon clean, organized, and fully stocked with supplies.
- Welcome clients with friendly, professional customer service.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, confirm bookings, and respond to client inquiries.
- Process payments and assist with client check-in and check-out.
- Help maintain accurate client and pet records.
- Assist groomers with pet handling and preparation when needed.
- Complete laundry, restock retail products, and perform general salon housekeeping.
- Assist with additional salon duties as assigned to support daily operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in pet bathing, animal care, veterinary, kennel, daycare, or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
- Comfortable standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and working in a physically active environment.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company.
