Job Summary

Chef Tim Love is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at Paloma Suerte. As a key player in our kitchen, you will oversee daily food preparation, manage kitchen operations, and ensure that every dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves leading a team, and has a deep appreciation for fine dining and hospitality. Your expertise will help elevate our culinary offerings and deliver memorable dining experiences to our guests.

Duties

Lead and supervise kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality food production.
Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation to maintain consistency and excellence.
Oversee food safety sanitizing procedures, proper food handling, and hygiene standards across the kitchen.
Manage inventory control, including stock rotation, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.
Coordinate catering and banquet events, ensuring timely preparation and flawless execution of large-scale meals.
Supervise dietary department tasks when applicable, ensuring special dietary needs are met with care and precision.
Support kitchen management by monitoring food service quality, implementing cost control measures, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Experience

Proven experience in fine dining environments with a strong background in food production and culinary techniques.
Supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential for effective team leadership.
Familiarity with banquet service, catering operations, and large-scale food preparation is highly desirable.
Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures, inventory management, and cost control practices.
Hands-on experience managing kitchen teams, shift coordination, and implementing food service standards.
Strong understanding of the food industry trends, menu planning, and restaurant management principles.
Previous roles involving culinary leadership within hospitality settings will be advantageous for success in this position.
