Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and diligent Dishwasher to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchenware, utensils, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient food service environment. Your proactive approach will help uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen health and safety standards, enabling our kitchen to operate smoothly and deliver exceptional dining experiences. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop foundational kitchen skills while contributing to a vibrant team committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently, ensuring all dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to food safety sanitizing procedures.
Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in maintaining a steady workflow.
Bypass or load dish racks carefully, practicing manual handling techniques to prevent injury during heavy lifting or moving of bulky items.
Maintain cleanliness in the dishwashing area by regularly sanitizing surfaces, sinks, and surrounding workspaces in compliance with sanitation standards.
Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing station.
Follow food handling protocols diligently to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with food safety management practices.
Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and correctly, including sinks, dishwashers, and other small appliances used in cleaning processes.
Assist in maintaining overall kitchen cleanliness by participating in routine sanitation tasks aligned with restaurant health and safety standards.

Experience

Previous experience working in a food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided for motivated candidates.
Familiarity with food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and basic kitchen operations is advantageous.
Experience with dishwashing machines or commercial cleaning equipment is a plus but not mandatory.
Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing during busy shifts.
Knowledge of food safety management principles and adherence to kitchen health and safety standards will support your success in this role.
