Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated Correctional Supervising Cook to lead our culinary operations within a correctional setting. This role involves overseeing meal preparation, ensuring food safety, and managing kitchen staff to deliver nutritious and well-presented meals. The ideal candidate will bring strong culinary skills, leadership abilities, and experience in food service environments.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily kitchen activities, including meal preparation and food handling, to meet safety and quality standards.
Plan menus that accommodate dietary needs and preferences while adhering to nutritional guidelines.
Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring efficient use of ingredients and proper cooking techniques.
Lead and train kitchen staff, including dietary aides, to maintain high performance and teamwork.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, following strict health and safety regulations.
Manage inventory levels, monitor stock rotation, and report shortages or issues promptly.
Ensure all meals are served on time and meet the facility’s standards for presentation and taste.

Experience

Prior experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
Strong background in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
Experience with fine dining or restaurant environments is a plus.
Knowledge of food safety practices, including proper handling and sanitation procedures.
Skills in culinary arts such as knife skills, meal preparation, catering, and food service operations.
