As we scale to meet accelerating market demand, we are seeking a Senior Vice President of Supply Chain to provide enterprise-level leadership for the strategy, transformation, and execution of VTC’s end-to-end supply chain.
Position Summary
The Senior Vice President of Supply Chain is a key enterprise executive responsible for the performance and transformation of sourcing, procurement, supply planning, logistics, inventory strategy, supplier development, commodity management, and supply risk management across VTC.
This leader will architect and lead a scalable, resilient, cost-competitive, and performance-driven global supply chain capable of supporting VTC’s 3X growth objectives, long lead-time materials, complex engineered-to-order manufacturing, capacity expansion, and demanding customer commitments.
The Senior Vice President will operate as a strategic partner to executive leadership and work closely with Operations, Engineering, Sales, Finance, Quality, and Plant Leadership to ensure material availability, supplier performance, working-capital discipline, and operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership
- Develop, own, and execute a multi-year enterprise supply chain strategy aligned with VTC’s 3X growth objectives and capacity expansion plans.
- Establish the operating model, governance, organization structure, and performance cadence for supply chain across multiple manufacturing facilities.
- Build a resilient global sourcing model for critical materials including electrical steel, copper, insulation systems, bushings, and other transformer components.
- Lead enterprise capacity and material planning to support high-mix, low-volume, engineered-to-order transformer manufacturing.
- Serve as the executive escalation point for critical supplier, material, capacity, and logistics constraints.
- Establish executive-level supplier partnerships, strategic alliances, and long-term agreements that secure capacity and improve commercial performance.
Strategic Procurement & Global Sourcing
- Lead enterprise procurement and strategic sourcing with accountability for cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and continuity of supply.
- Institutionalize category management, supplier segmentation, strategic sourcing, and procurement governance.
- Lead negotiation strategy for complex, high-value, multi-year agreements with domestic and international suppliers.
- Drive cost optimization and productivity while protecting quality, lead times, supplier capacity, and customer commitments.
- Diversify and strengthen the supplier base to reduce geopolitical, commodity, capacity, and single-source risk.
- Develop supplier performance and development programs that improve quality, delivery, responsiveness, and total cost.
S&OP, Planning & Inventory Optimization
- Lead the modernization and maturation of S&OP, demand planning, supply planning, and material planning processes.
- Improve forecast accuracy, material readiness, schedule adherence, and visibility across the enterprise.
- Own inventory strategy and working-capital optimization while maintaining appropriate service levels and supply resilience.
- Reduce material shortages, premium freight, expedite costs, excess inventory, and production schedule disruptions.
- Establish scalable planning processes and systems capable of supporting continued growth and new capacity.
Logistics & Operations Integration
- Provide executive oversight of inbound and outbound logistics, freight strategy, network optimization, and logistics partners.
- Strengthen integration between corporate supply chain, plant operations, engineering, quality, finance, and commercial teams.
- Drive improvements in OTIF (On-Time-In-Full), material availability, supplier delivery, and plant schedule attainment.
- Lead supply chain readiness for capacity expansion initiatives, new plant ramp-ups, and major growth programs.
Risk, Resilience & Commodity Management
- Own enterprise supplier risk governance, assessment, escalation, and mitigation planning.
- Develop contingency and business-continuity plans for critical materials, components, suppliers, and logistics lanes.
- Monitor global commodity trends, pricing volatility, geopolitical exposure, and supply-market dynamics.
- Develop strategies to mitigate commodity exposure and protect supply continuity and margins.
Leadership, Organization & Performance
- Build, structure, and develop a high-performing, accountable enterprise supply chain organization.
- Develop leadership depth, succession plans, and talent pipelines across procurement, planning, logistics, and supplier management.
- Establish executive KPIs tied to cost, working capital, supplier performance, reliability, safety, service, and execution.
- Create a culture of urgency, ownership, accountability, data-driven decision-making, and disciplined execution.
- Develop the digital and analytics roadmap for supply chain, including ERP-enabled planning, supplier visibility, data governance, and executive dashboards.
Qualifications
- 20+ years of progressive supply chain, procurement, materials, operations, or related leadership experience, including significant executive-level responsibility.
- Proven experience leading enterprise or multi-site supply chain organizations in complex manufacturing environments.
- Experience in heavy manufacturing, power systems, electrical equipment, industrial machinery, capital equipment, or engineered-to-order manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing complex domestic and global supplier networks and negotiating high-value strategic agreements.
- Proven track record leading supply chain transformation, organizational change, systems modernization, and measurable performance improvement at scale.
- Strong understanding of S&OP, strategic sourcing, commodity management, inventory optimization, logistics, supplier development, and supply risk management.
- Exceptional executive presence and the ability to influence senior leadership, plant organizations, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related discipline required; MBA or relevant advanced degree strongly preferred.
