Assignment Overview

Shift: Days, 4x10hrs
Hours: 40 hrs/wk

Description

American Traveler is hiring an Electrophysiology Lab Tech for a 13-week contract requiring ACLS/BLS and either ARRT(R) with an active state license or CCI RCES/RCIS certification.

Details

work setting includes an Electrophysiology Lab within an acute care teaching hospital
1:1 patient ratio
4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with rotating late shifts as cases require
No weekend shifts and no call requirements outside of rotating late-stay coverage
Must be available to work one holiday per 13-week contract in rotation with staff, as the department closes on facility holidays
Epic charting system required
Performs EP mapping, EKG lead placement, sterile technique, and dysrhythmia recognition/interpretation
Utilizes Fluoroscopy, Siemens, Philips, and Ultrasound equipment, as well as Carto Ensite and Cardiolab systems
Facility allows staff to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Requirements

ACLS and BLS certification required
ARRT(R) certification with an active Virginia state license (in hand or pending) OR CCI RCES/RCIS certification
License required if applicable
EP Lab experience required
Cardiac background required
Experience with sterile technique, EKG lead placement, and dysrhythmia recognition/interpretation required
Experience with Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose, StarClose) preferred
Experience with Arrhythmia Induction, Baseline Measurements, Cardiac Ablation, Cardiac Mapping, Cardioversion, Conduction Studies, EP Evaluation, AICD Insertion/Programming, LAA Closure, and Pacemaker Insertion preferred
Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, equipment handling, and supply management required
Epic charting experience required

Facility is an acute care teaching hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, and certified stroke center
Nationally recognized for cardiac cath lab excellence with American College of Cardiology accreditation for PCI procedures
Six state-of-the-art cath labs performing thousands of advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures annually
Supported by a multidisciplinary team with adjacent cardiac surgery and hybrid ORs
Responsibilities include accurate monitoring, equipment set up, prep of access site, room circulator duties, and maintaining sterile field as scrub
Use of Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
First-time travelers will be considered, though multiple years of travel experience is preferred
Returning travelers must have been separated from the facility for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler, with additional restrictions for those who have worked 365 total days on assignment
All RTO requests must be submitted upfront with the application
Candidates must live a minimum of 50 miles from the facility per driver's license address; those living 50-99.9 miles away may be considered for one 13-week contract only
