Full Job Description

The Damon Company is a family-owned manufacturing company, located in Salem, VA. The Damon Company manufactures products for a variety of customers and in-house brands, including Shrewd Archery. The Damon Company operates an outdoor oriented retail store/bar specializing in high end archery equipment called Shrewd Outdoors.

About Shrewd Archery

Shrewd Archery is an in-house brand of The Damon Company, designing and manufacturing high end competition and hunting archery equipment. Shrewd Archery products are used by competitive archers and hunters and are sold through Shrewd Outdoors, our retail store/bar in downtown Salem, VA, as well as through dealers and online.

Position Overview

Plan, create, and manage engaging content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube) to promote Shrewd Archery products, sponsored athletes, and brand story.
Manage the brand's social media calendar and respond to comments/messages in a timely, on-brand manner.
Photograph and film product shoots, tournaments, sponsored athlete events, and behind-the-scenes footage of design and manufacturing for use across marketing channels.
Track engagement metrics and campaign performance, and adjust strategy based on results.
Coordinate with the design and sales teams to highlight new product launches, promotions, and dealer/retail partnerships, including Shrewd Outdoors.
Assist with the design of print materials, catalogs, and point-of-sale/merchandising displays.
Collaborate with sponsored athletes, influencers, and industry partners on co-marketing opportunities.
Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices in outdoor/sporting goods marketing.
Work under the Brand Manager to develop and maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all marketing materials.

Required Skills/Experience

1-3 years of experience in marketing, content creation, social media management, or a related field.
Strong photography and videography skills, including basic photo/video editing (Adobe Creative Suite).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience managing social media platforms and creating content that drives engagement.
Familiarity with email marketing platforms and basic website content management.
Computer skills required (Microsoft Office, scheduling/analytics tools).
A creative eye and passion for storytelling, with an interest in archery, hunting, or the outdoor/sporting goods industry a plus.
Ability to lift 30+ pounds.
