Boat Sales Consultant

Midwest Water Sports
Location: Minnesota
Compensation: $50,000–$200,000+ per year

Midwest Water Sports is looking to add a motivated, competitive, and customer-focused Boat Sales Consultant to join our team.

This is an opportunity to build a high-income career in the boating industry while helping customers find the right boat for their family and lifestyle. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a sales environment, follows up consistently, and is motivated by achieving results.

Whether you're an experienced marine, automotive, powersports, RV, or other high-ticket salesperson—or a driven sales professional ready to enter the boating industry—we want to hear from you.

Compensation

Expected annual earnings: $50,000–$200,000+

Compensation includes base pay and/or commissions and sales incentives. This is a performance-driven sales position with significant earning potential for top producers.

What You'll Do

Sell new and pre-owned boats to retail customers
Develop relationships with customers throughout the boat-buying process
Respond quickly and professionally to internet, phone, and walk-in leads
Follow up consistently with prospective customers
Qualify customers and help identify the right boat for their needs, lifestyle, and budget
Conduct boat presentations, demonstrations, and on-water demos when appropriate
Prepare and present purchase options
Negotiate and close sales while maintaining an excellent customer experience
Maintain accurate customer and sales activity in our CRM
Build a pipeline of prospects and actively work toward monthly and annual sales goals
Develop repeat and referral business through strong customer relationships
Maintain knowledge of current boat models, features, options, inventory, and promotions
Attend boat shows, sales events, open houses, and other dealership events
Work closely with our finance, service, parts, and delivery teams to provide a smooth ownership experience

What We're Looking For

Able to learn detailed product information
Comfortable using CRM, email, text, and other sales technologies
Willing to work some Saturdays and additional hours during peak boating season
Interested in boating, watersports, and the marine industry

Previous boat sales experience is not required for the right candidate. Experience in automotive, powersports, RV, real estate, high-ticket retail, or other commission-based sales environments is a plus.

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Availability on Saturdays and during key boat shows, events, and peak-season periods is required. The marine business is seasonal, so the ability to take advantage of busy selling periods is important to success in this position.

Earnings Potential

Success in this role is directly connected to effort, follow-up, customer relationships, and sales performance. A developing salesperson may earn approximately $50,000+ annually, while experienced and high-performing sales professionals have the opportunity to earn well into six figures, with top-end earnings of $200,000+.
