Sales Manager

Holiday Inn Corpus Christi Downtown Marina — Corpus Christi, TX

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

About the Opportunity

The Holiday Inn Corpus Christi Downtown Marina sits in the heart of the city's waterfront district, steps from the marina, the American Bank Center, and downtown's business and convention corridor. We're looking for a driven, relationship-focused Sales Manager to grow group, corporate, and SMERF business and help this property win more than its fair share of the market.

This is a role for a hunter and a closer, someone who's energized by prospecting, comfortable in front of decision-makers, and disciplined about follow-up. You'll own a book of business, drive top-line revenue, and represent the hotel in the Corpus Christi community.

What You'll Do

Business Development & Prospecting

Proactively solicit new group, corporate negotiated (LNR), government, and SMERF business through outside sales calls, telemarketing, site tours, networking, and community involvement
Develop and maintain a qualified prospect pipeline; complete weekly sales activity goals (calls, appointments, site tours)
Respond to all leads and RFPs within 24 hours, including those from IHG channels, Cvent, and third-party lead sources
Identify and pursue demand generators: American Bank Center events, port and industrial business, medical, military/government, sports teams, tournaments, weddings, and reunions

Account Management & Closing

Negotiate group rates, meeting space, and contract terms within established rate and yield guidelines
Prepare proposals and contracts; conduct professional site inspections that convert
Manage existing accounts with regular touchpoints, re-solicitation, and retention strategies
Coordinate group details with operations (front office, F&B, housekeeping) to ensure flawless execution and repeat business

Revenue & Reporting

Partner with the GM and revenue management team on pricing, displacement analysis, and group vs. transient mix decisions
Maintain accurate and current account, contact, and booking data in the sales system (Delphi/CRM)
Prepare weekly sales activity reports and participate in weekly revenue strategy meetings
Support the annual marketing plan and budget process with market intelligence and account production data

Community & Brand Representation

Represent the hotel with the Corpus Christi Convention & Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, and local industry associations
Uphold IHG brand standards and leverage IHG sales tools, programs, and Business Rewards to win share

What We're Looking For

2+ years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a branded select-service or full-service property (IHG, Marriott, Hilton experience a plus)
Proven track record of prospecting and closing group and corporate business
Strong negotiation, presentation, and written communication skills
Working knowledge of sales systems (Delphi, Cvent, or similar CRM) and Microsoft Office
Self-starter who thrives with accountability to activity and production goals
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends for client events and site tours
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for outside sales calls

Preferred

Existing relationships in the Corpus Christi / Coastal Bend market
Experience with IHG systems and RFP tools
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
