Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial health. Your expertise in various accounting software and systems will be essential to accurately process transactions, perform reconciliations, and analyze financial data. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where precision, integrity, and proactive problem-solving are valued.

Duties

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
Conduct detailed data entry and maintain confidential financial information with integrity and discretion.
Support month-end closing activities, including general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to corporate and governmental accounting standards.
Utilize accounting systems like Workday, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian to streamline financial operations and reporting.
Perform account analysis using Excel data analysis techniques to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Handle customer service inquiries related to billing, payments, or account status professionally and efficiently.

Requirements

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and journal entries.
Familiarity with financial software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, ADP, Ceridian, UltiPro, Kronos, Paychex or similar platforms.
Knowledge of SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements and experience working with Workday or PeopleSoft is highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform Excel data analysis and account reconciliation accurately.
Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for precise bookkeeping and account analysis.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.
Experience in public accounting or governmental accounting is a plus but not required.
Strong communication skills coupled with customer service orientation to support internal teams and external vendors effectively.
