Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAD Designer / Reverse Engineering Technician specializing in 2D and 3D CAD modeling to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will leverage advanced CAD software to create precise mechanical designs, develop detailed schematics, and reverse engineer existing components and systems. Your expertise will contribute to innovative product development, system design, and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects that require a blend of creative problem-solving and technical precision.

Responsibilities

Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models from existing parts and assemblies.
Reverse engineer electrical and mechanical components.
Measure parts using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
Develop production-ready drawings with proper dimensions and tolerances.
Maintain organized CAD files and engineering documentation.
Work closely with fabrication and production personnel to ensure design accuracy.
Assist with product development and continuous improvement projects.

Required Qualifications

Experience using 2D and 3D CAD software.
Ability to accurately reverse engineer physical components into CAD models.
Comfortable using:
Tape measures
Digital calipers
Micrometers
Strong attention to detail.
Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Autodesk Inventor.
Experience with other Autodesk software (AutoCAD, Vault, etc.).
Manufacturing or fabrication experience.
Experience creating sheet metal and welded assemblies.
Familiarity with electrical equipment or industrial products is a plus.
