Full Job Description

Erickson Infrastructure is expanding and we are actively seeking an experienced Sign Foremen and Sign Laborers to support our roadway and structural signage operations. We work in highway sign installation, overhead sign systems, and bridge-mounted sign structures. If you have hands-on field experience and take pride in delivering high-quality infrastructure work, we want to hear from you.

Position Overview

Successful candidates will perform installation, maintenance, and repair of roadway signage systems including ground-mounted signs, overhead sign structures, and bridge-mounted sign assemblies. Work involves structural steel erection, equipment operation, traffic control coordination, and compliance with DOT specifications.

Sign Foremen will lead field crews, coordinate with project managers and Inspectors, ensure safety compliance, and maintain production schedules. Laborers will assist with installation, equipment operation, and site preparation under supervision.

Required Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in roadway sign installation or related heavy civil construction.
Demonstrated experience with overhead sign installation, including:
Cantilever sign structures
Truss-mounted overhead signs
Monotube sign structures
Experience installing or working with bridge-mounted sign structures, including:
Anchor systems
Structural steel mounting assemblies
Working at heights on bridge decks or over live traffic
Ability to read and interpret plans and blueprints, shop drawings, and DOT specifications.
Experience operating equipment such as skid steers, boom lifts, bucket trucks, forklifts
Knowledge of traffic control procedures and work zone safety.

Preferred Qualifications

CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred but not required.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Experience working on state DOT or municipal roadway projects.
Rigging and crane signaling knowledge.
Structural assembly experience (beneficial but not required).

Responsibilities

For All Positions:

Install and remove traffic signage per project specifications.
Assist with foundations, concrete placement, and anchor post installation.
Perform structural assembly of sign panels and support systems.
Work safely in high-traffic and elevated environments.
Maintain tools, vehicles, and jobsite cleanliness.

Additional Responsibilities – Sign Foreman:

Supervise and direct crew members.
Coordinate daily work activities and equipment needs.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
Communicate with project managers and inspectors.
Track productivity and ensure quality control.

Work Environment

Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Frequent lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
Work on active roadways and bridge structures.
Travel may be required depending on project location.
