Job Description

Position Overview:

The Wealth Management Associate is a registered representative who does not maintain his or her own book of business. In addition to providing administrative support to his/her Wealth Manager, the Wealth Management Associate may conduct client meetings independent of the advisor and can solicit business on behalf of the Financial Advisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparing research report(s) and reviewing with clients
Preparing portfolio reviews on behalf of Financial Advisor, may attend client meetings with Financial Advisor
Independently improves and streamlines the service model and operational procedures for the team
Coordinates and leads resolution of complex issues/concerns from the client with input from Financial Advisor and/or Operations Manager
Establishes and cultivates relationships with new clients and proactively helps to resolve client issues and concerns
Provides high level support on products and services
Develops customizes presentation materials and manage performance measurements for existing accounts in order to attract new clients
Collaborates with the Financial Advisor in developing overall business plans and marketing strategies by independently targeting prospective clients and create/plan the content of seminars
Initiates, organizes, promotes and sets up seminars for clients and prospects on behalf of the advisor
Independently assists clients with market and stock research
Independently develops, implements and communicates new procedures, products and portfolio enhancements to clients
Cultivates and develops relationships with custodians and other internal departments
Attends seminars or client meetings with Advisor and coordinates distribution of marketing presentations to clients
Is a leader in sharing best practices within the branch and across Divisions
May mentor other sales support professional within branch or across Division
Supports local manager in day-to-day branch administration activities
Other ad hoc duties or projects that may be assigned
In addition, the Wealth Management Associate may also have a specialism or perform additional functions such as business development, financial planning, marketing or business strategy.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a field relevant to the position
Bachelor’s degree in business or in related field is preferred
Financial industry and product knowledge
FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65)
Life and health licenses as required
Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking
Independent self-starter who can manage multiple activities to defined deadlines
Highly detail-oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Follow-up to ensure resolution and completion of tasks
Team player with the ability to collaborate with others
Effective written and verbal communications skills
Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
