The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
Assists with implementing and monitoring compliance with policy, standards, quality, safety and satisfaction metrics. Ensures that patients are seen in a compliant environment of care. Encourages collaboration between key stakeholders of all ambulatory care areas, applying problem solving skills to achieve results. Guides individuals and team members in ambulatory care services responsible for operational readiness innovation, efficiency, quality, safety, and reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serves as manager for operational readiness in planning and execution of expansion of Ambulatory practice sites across the region. Ensures regional sites are cost effective, compliant with regulatory requirements, and are meeting strategic goals of the system. Provides oversight for multiple, simultaneous projects to achieve business goals. Interfaces between team and governance groups to communicate executive-level program and project information for planning, budgeting, metrics, and process improvement.
- Manages operational improvement efforts, ensuring performance improvement, risk management, and patient safety functions are developed, evaluated, maintained and integrated throughout areas of responsibility. Implements new compliance requirements in collaboration with Senior Leadership, Legal, Compliance, Program Administrators, Medical Chiefs, and Medical Chairs to ensure program goal achievement and risk reduction. Represents Ambulatory Care in clinical practice acquisitions and monitors co location to minimize exposure. Represents Ambulatory Administration on Environment of Care committee, working groups and acquisition teams for URMC/affiliates, providing direction and elevating the environment of care for all onsite and offsite ambulatory locations. Conducts Joint Commission assessments, analyzes data from technology dashboards, and consults with leaders to improve compliance to Joint Commission and University objectives. Conducts risk assessments, creates and updates policies and other regulatory requirements.
- Collaborates with Clinical Space Planning to oversee all Ambulatory hospital based and faculty practice clinics, spanning multiple counties. Solves problems and implements policy and operation decisions throughout the Ambulatory care enterprise. Conducts risk assessments, proposing solutions and corrective measures across all Ambulatory care locations.
- Assists in leading operational logistics and the launch of new clinics. Optimizes locations, patient care capacity, patient access, staffing, and use of electronic medical record. Collaborates across the necessary continuum, to provide nimble solutions while meeting the required mission.
- Assists with oversight of ambulatory policies and procedures. In collaboration with leadership, develops and implements policies to support the department. Achieves timely access to care by integrating University of Rochester Medical Faculty Group and hospital practices under unified policies, expectations for performance, and outcomes. Monitors compliance to metrics and develops action plans to meet targeted goals. Identifies, communicates and implements best business practices among departments to ensure that strategic and departmental goals are met and program compliance and growth can be achieved. Guides initiatives that require a multidisciplinary approach. Provides guidance to improve processes across program boundaries and create an environment for program development and growth.
- Develops and implements approach to ensure timely response to disruption in service across the ambulatory enterprise, on and off campus. Assists EHS staff to ensure completion of Ambulatory fire and disaster drills annually. Develops and updates Ambulatory emergency quick guides. Manages efforts to leverage resources in locations with multiple clinics. Continues efforts to improve emergency preparedness for short- and long-term events. Responds immediately to healthcare crisis/emergency events, collaborates with all stakeholders, implements solutions to improve emergency response effectiveness and lead after-action efforts.
- Assists in ACF master planning of facility improvements and renovations, focusing on tenant needs, improved compliance performance, fiscal responsibility and appropriate timing of projects. Works with ambulatory care areas to increase efficiency and effectiveness, implement new technologies, infrastructure, standards and processes to improve workflow, and adherence to compliance requirements. Manages ACF tower and offsite Ambulatory space planning projects, in collaboration with the Ambulatory Team, to meet the needs for clinical expansion. Meets with individual key stakeholders and brings the parties together to meet goals, on time and within budget.
- Leads special projects as directed by leadership. Implements new technology, functionality and smart devices for compliance in Hospital based clinics that improve the environment of care, patient experience, and compliance to regulatory agencies. Manages the transition to a Smartsheet database for ambulatory locations and contacts. Assists the actions of others across all programs and supporting departments, to improve data integrity, automating appropriate communications, and compliance tracking. Assists teams and quality improvement initiatives creating a culture of continuous improvement. Extends initiatives to affiliates to achieve consistency system wide.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related experience required
- Master's degree and 2 years in a supervisory capacity preferred
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience using Lean for performance improvement required
