The Destination Medical Center Economic Development Agency (DMC EDA) is the staff that assists the DMCC in planning and executing the DMC Development Plan (a visionary 20-year plan that started in 2015) and adopted strategies for economic development in Rochester, MN. The DMC EDA consists of an experienced team of professionals who execute a comprehensive strategy to steward $585 million of public investment and leverage that investment with the goal of attracting over $5 billion in private investment to the market.
Working closely with the Business Development team, the Coordinator manages the day-to-day operational activities that enable DMC to recruit and support innovative health technology companies, strengthen the Discovery Square Health Innovation Ecosystem, and communicate the impact of DMC's business development efforts through accurate data and reporting. The position is ideal for an organized, process-oriented professional who enjoys creating efficient systems, managing information, and supporting a collaborative team. Responsibilities
Business Development Operations (30%)
Support DMC's company recruitment efforts through research, coordination, and administrative management of the business development pipeline.
- Maintain databases of prospective companies and recruitment targets.
- Conduct company research to support recruitment strategy and outreach planning.
- Apply established screening tools and prioritization processes to identify high-potential opportunities.
- Coordinate outbound business development outreach, including prospect lists, mail merges, scheduling, and follow-up communications.
- Support inbound company inquiries by coordinating meetings, tours, and follow-up activities.
- Prepare company briefing materials for Business Development Managers.
- Track recruitment opportunities throughout the business development pipeline.
- Maintain accurate records of company engagement activities and outcomes.
- Ensure business development opportunities progress efficiently through established workflows.
Ecosystem Coordination (30%)
Support the continued growth of the Discovery Square Health Innovation Ecosystem through stakeholder management, research, and administrative coordination.
- Maintain stakeholder databases across Discovery Square's six ecosystem nodes.
- Conduct research to identify prospective ecosystem partners and strategic organizations.
- Prepare background information and briefing materials for partnership development activities.
- Coordinate outreach, meeting scheduling, and follow-up communications with ecosystem stakeholders.
- Document meetings, introductions, and engagement activities within the CRM.
- Maintain accurate records of partner organizations, contacts, and relationship history.
- Support ongoing ecosystem communications and engagement initiatives.
- Assist Business Development Managers in maintaining an active and growing network of ecosystem partners.
CRM Administration & Reporting (30%)
Serve as the business owner for DMC's CRM platform and maintain the business development information systems that support team operations and organizational reporting.
- Serve as the primary business owner for DMC's Insightly CRM system.
- Manage day-to-day CRM administration, including data entry, quality control, record maintenance, imports, exports, and user support.
- Establish and maintain data quality standards that ensure accurate, complete, and reliable information.
- Coordinate with DMC's external CRM administrator on system enhancements, troubleshooting, and configuration requests.
- Produce recurring business development reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Support preparation of reports for DMC leadership and the DMC Board.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures related to CRM and data management.
- Ensure business development information is organized, accessible, and consistently maintained.
Administrative Support (10%)
Provide administrative support that contributes to the overall effectiveness of the Business Development team.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and supporting documents.
- Update business development templates, marketing materials, and collateral.
- Coordinate mail merges and other business development communications.
- Assist with meeting scheduling and calendar coordination.
- Support logistics associated with company visits and business development activities.
- Perform other related duties that support the Business Development program.
