We are a small, family-owned company looking for an individual who will serve our four companies – Spring Green Lawn Care, Green Edge Lawn Service, Amundson Acres, and Pet Butler.
The Mechanic will utilize their knowledge of equipment parts, diagnostic tools, and repair procedures to isolate issues with various vehicles and equipment, make repairs and run tests. In this position, the individual is responsible for determining the cost of certain repairs or maintenance procedures to create invoices for each business unit. A typical day may include changing tires, processing oil changes, fixing leaks, and sharpening blades on a fleet of mowers.

Accountabilities:
- Inventory of parts/acquire supplies
- Equipment is fully functioning
- Caretaker of shop organization
- Planning/strategy for equipment flow
Measurable(s): Breakdowns should not exceed 48 hours
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repairs: Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
- Provide routine inspections of vehicles and inform Owner of any issues.
- Prepare quotes and work estimates based on business unit usage of services.
- Allocate equipment to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Collaborate with Owner, Operations Manager and/or Assistant to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Communicate with Porter staff that completes daily equipment maintenance and property maintenance.
- Ensure that all businesses activities comply with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain and clean shop equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable conditions at all times.
- Assess and mitigate potential risks related operations, including safety hazards and legal compliance.
Administrative:
- Participate in weekly meetings with manager – bringing Issues and identifying solutions. Execute strategic plan with team.
- Manage the budget for monitoring expenses and finding cost-effective solutions.
- Analyze performance data and metrics to make informed decisions for improving operations and service quality.
- Create and manage maintenance schedule to proactively plan preventative maintenance and provide necessary repairs as needed.
- Communicate with staff to ensure proper equipment is field ready.
- Maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction by ensuring that all services meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Keep an accurate log of all work performed.

Qualifications:
- 2+ years mechanic experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong time management skills
- Knowledge of solving electrical issues (voltage/amps)
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Experience in process improvement preferred
- Desire to learn and grow, focusing on lawn care services to best support our customers
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities
- Ability to pass a background check
- Valid driver’s license required
- Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) helpful, but not required
- Understanding of lawn care, pet waste care & clean-up, and farming helpful, but not required
- Obtain necessary permits and licenses DOT certified preferred but not required
Hours and Pay: Work hours to be determined based on business needs: approximately 15 hours per week; up to 40 hours. Weekend work may be required. This seasonal role is expected to work April-November, with a possibility to extend. Wage listed is an estimate and will depend on qualifications. Potential to receive bonus.
Location: Work will initially be performed in our Zumbrota, MN office.
