Position Summary
The Laser Turret & Deburring Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the Laser, Turret, and Deburring departments to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This position supervises personnel, coordinates workflow, schedules production activities, monitors performance metrics, and drives continuous improvement initiatives while supporting on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. The Supervisor will work closely with Production Control, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and other manufacturing departments to achieve operational objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Production Leadership
- Direct and supervise daily operations of the Laser, Turret, and Deburring departments.
- Assign work and prioritize jobs based on production schedules, customer requirements, and capacity.
- Monitor workflow to ensure jobs are processed efficiently and meet scheduled completion dates.
- Coordinate staffing and labor resources to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Maintain department performance metrics including productivity, efficiency, scrap, setup reduction, and on-time delivery.
Employee Supervision & Development
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to department employees.
- Support employee training, cross-training, and skills development using the company training matrix.
- Train new employees and temporary personnel on equipment operation, safety requirements, quality standards, and applicable procedures.
- Participate in employee performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce setup times, eliminate waste, and improve overall process efficiency.
- Lead and support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
- Work with lead operators and team members to develop and implement improvement projects.
- Track and report progress on departmental improvement initiatives.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and company requirements.
- Support corrective and preventive action activities, including root cause investigations and implementation of long-term solutions.
- Ensure compliance with ISO procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
Material & Production Planning
- Identify opportunities to optimize material utilization through nesting and family-of-parts scheduling.
- Coordinate with Production Control and Engineering to resolve scheduling, material, and process issues.
- Ensure proper handling and identification of raw materials and work-in-process inventory.
Safety
- Enforce all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct routine safety observations and address unsafe conditions or behaviors.
- Ensure employees are utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support company safety initiatives and accident prevention efforts.
Operational Support
- Operate Laser and Turret equipment as needed to support production demands.
- Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering when necessary.
- Assist in maintaining equipment utilization and uptime.
Education & Experience
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or lead operator experience.
- Experience operating a 6 Kilowatt Amada Fiber Laser and Turret Punch equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
- Fluent in Excel and MS office.
Preferred
- Experience operating Amada Turret
- Technical or vocational training in manufacturing, machining, or related field.
- Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within an ISO-certified quality system.

- Understanding quality inspection methods and measuring instruments.
- Basic computer skills, including ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Work Environment
The employee works primarily in a manufacturing facility and is regularly exposed to machinery, moving equipment, metal materials, and moderate noise levels. The company maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment consistent with established safety and quality standards.
