The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under general direction from Nursing Leadership, assists providers during exams. Performs a variety of clinical tasks in support of patient care in out-patient clinics including a variety of technical, procedural and information systems tasks involving patient care functions affecting the comfort, care and safety of patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, perform diagnostic testing, and collect specimens per provider orders, ensuring accurate labeling and processing. Operate diagnostic and medical equipment such as EKGs, cardiac monitors, and pulse oximeters.
Provide patient care and comfort by explaining procedures, ensuring supplies are available, and delivering discharge instructions. Assist providers during surgical procedures, including sterile field preparation and specimen handling.
Maintain exam room readiness and manage clinical equipment and medical supply inventory, including ordering, stocking, and cleaning. Identify cost-saving opportunities and resolve supply chain issues.
Document patient data, care provided, and condition in the electronic medical record system. Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling and registration, as needed.
Implement and monitor infection prevention measures, ensuring compliance with protocols and addressing breaches.
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year experience in customer focused/service setting required
Associate's degree preferred
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 6 months of progressively responsible professional work experience in the ambulatory clinic setting required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and computer experience preferred
