Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment, including construction machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle fleets. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and equipment, supporting our operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM schematics and electronic diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and construction machinery to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using hand tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and power tools to meet specific repair requirements.
- Service and repair industrial equipment while adhering to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct wheel alignments, tire services, brake repairs, HVAC system servicing, and suspension adjustments to maintain vehicle safety standards.
- Utilize heavy lifting techniques safely when handling large parts or equipment during repairs or assembly tasks.
- Maintain detailed service records and logs of all repairs performed; interpret schematics for troubleshooting complex electrical or mechanical issues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy equipment servicing with a strong background in diesel engine diagnostics and repair.
- Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, forklifts, tractors, and trailers.
- Proficiency with OEM manuals, schematics, electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, and hydraulic systems.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; capable of using hand tools and power tools effectively.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation along with mechanical knowledge of transmissions, suspensions, air brakes, HVAC systems, and alignment procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions; strong attention to detail in troubleshooting issues.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to service technician responsibilities; committed to safety standards at all times.
