Full Job Description

Primary Care Partners an affiliate of Atlantic Health System, seeks a Part-time or Per Diem, Billing Specialists for our Internal Medicine Care Center in Denville, NJ. Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate submission / processing of claims and reimbursement in a manner that is consistent with industry best practices.

Job Responsibilities

Verify & Update accounts, as needed, with new patient demographics and insurance information.
Reviews practice work queues for proper coding; releases charges to billing company.
Reviews discrepancies found with practice /provider for claims corrections.
Generates practice Self Pay reports (other reports as needed) for direct account and balance follow up with patient/guarantor.
Responsible for working Accounts Receivable 30-60 days through and including +120days.
Assists practice with research of claims not paid within industry standard, prompt payment regulations.
Responsible for posting patient payments, as needed.
Responsible to investigate, analyze and follow up on past due balances.
Initiates and responds to telephone inquiries from patients or others.
Responsible for review of collection reports and communicates directly with practice manager / managing partner for approval.
Reviews Request for Information (RFI) portal and makes necessary edits for claims refiling.
Other duties as deemed necessary.

Education

Bachelors Degree preferred, minimum of a HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Medical Coding Certificate and experience in risk/value-based coding preferred.

Experience

Minimum of three to five years billing experience.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care Plans and Commercial plans
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding

Compensation is based on experience.
