Precision Quincy designs, engineers, and fabricates industrial ovens that serve a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, building materials, packaging, electronics, and finishing. Our ovens are crucial to manufacturing processes that require precise thermal treatment.
We are seeking a Junior Field Service Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who is quick to learn, resourceful, and enjoys problem-solving. The successful candidate will be trained on the specifics of our industry, but we are looking for an individual who is intelligent, hardworking, and persistent, with the ability to troubleshoot and perform a wide variety of tasks. While formal education in engineering or a technical field is a plus, we value the ability to learn quickly and demonstrate technical aptitude above all else. Whether you have a degree (BSME, Associate's, or equivalent) or relevant work experience, we want someone who is willing to dive in, take on challenges, and grow with us.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel Requirements: up to 75% travel to customer sites for installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Installation & Start-up: Assist with installing industrial ovens and systems on-site at customer locations.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and PLC-related issues.
- Design Support: Use 3D modeling (SolidWorks preferred) to assist with oven designs.
- PLC Work: Work with PLCs to troubleshoot, manipulate basic programs, and support debugging.
- Welding & Wiring: Perform welding and wiring tasks for equipment installation and maintenance.
- Mechanical Assembly & Fabrication: Assist in assembling and fabricating mechanical components as needed.
- Customer Interaction: Be the point of contact for customers during service visits, ensuring clear communication and providing a professional experience.
- Testing & Calibration: Perform uniformity testing on ovens and systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with industry trends and technical developments, and continue to expand your skill set
Qualifications:
- Education: BSME or an Associate's degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- Experience: Some hands-on mechanical or electrical experience is preferred but not required. We will provide on-the-job training.
- Skills: Ability to weld, wire, troubleshoot electrical systems, and work with PLCs.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers.
- Work Ethic: Must be hardworking, persistent, and able to learn new concepts and tasks quickly.
- Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally.
- Licensing: A valid driver's license is required.
- Teamwork & Independence: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Deadline-Oriented: Ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines and customer needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
