Full Job Description

RN Registered Nurse New Graduate School Nurse

Brightstar Care is a nursing agency in the Sacramento region dedicated to providing students enrolled in local K-12 school districts the nursing support they require to thrive in a classroom setting.

We offer recent graduate RNs (Registered Nurses) the opportunity to gain experience with pediatric nursing interventions including, but not limited to, enteral feedings, medication administration, diabetes management, seizure precautions, as well as tracheostomy and mechanical ventilation care.

Our Nursing Supervisors provide comprehensive training and ongoing support in relation to the established goals and treatments outlined in the student’s individualized plan of treatment.

We are currently hiring and specifically looking for Registered Nurses interested in the Roseville, Sacramento, and Vacaville areas to participate in this extremely rewarding realm of nursing care for medically fragile children.

Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Responsibilities of the RN (Registered Nurse):

Perform skilled patient care per the plan of care
Assure proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with all applicable laws
Fluid communication with office staff and clinical team
Timely processing of all clinical documentation
Consistency of attendance
Ability to follow all state regulations

Here's what we require of RN (Registered Nurse):

Passion for one-on-one patient care in the school setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Current unrestricted RN or LVN license in CA
Current CPR and TB skin test
Valid ID and Social Security Card
Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen
Ability to clock in and out on a Smartphone

Basic Qualifications:

Associate's Degree (Registered Nurse)
Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening
Pre-employment physical including negative TB test Valid CA driver's license and clean driving record

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job including:

Successful candidate must provide a post offer, pre-employment physical examination.
Successful candidate must submit to drug screening and background check.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the home care field.

BEHAVIORAL SKILLS

Requires the ability to prioritize and complete work on time, be detail-oriented, exhibit a service orientation to clients, and be a team player with a positive attitude. Requires solid reliability, timeliness, organizational skills, and thoroughness. Requires excellent interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to demonstrate solid judgment about patient care and safety. Requires the ability to appropriately troubleshoot and escalate where necessary. Experience fostering new job opportunities is a plus.
