Do you love the energy of a busy restaurant, enjoy connecting with people, and have a passion for both craft cocktails and exceptional service? As our Bartender & Restaurant Server, you'll enjoy the best of both worlds—crafting creative cocktails behind the bar while also providing attentive table service in our signature restaurant, Oak Room, at the Rockport Harbor Hotel. This position would be a combination of bartending shifts on some nights and serving shifts on the other.
Whether you're shaking up an Old Fashioned, recommending the perfect wine pairing, or creating an unforgettable dining experience for your guests, you'll be at the heart of what makes Oak Room such a special place.
This position offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time employment and has the opportunity to become a year-round role for the right candidate.

Here's What You'll Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Craft Cocktail Specialist
Prepare and serve handcrafted cocktails, local beers, wines, and premium spirits with precision, creativity, and consistency.
Restaurant Service Professional
Provide attentive, knowledgeable table service while creating a warm, welcoming, and memorable dining experience for every guest.
Guest Experience Ambassador
Build genuine connections with guests, anticipate their needs, make thoughtful recommendations, and create loyal, repeat customers.
Menu Expert
Become knowledgeable about our food, wine, beer, and cocktail offerings, confidently guiding guests through the menu and suggesting pairings and daily specials.
Bar & Dining Room Team Player
Transition seamlessly between bartending and serving responsibilities depending on the needs of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service throughout every shift.
Fast-Paced Hospitality Professional
Remain calm, organized, and positive during busy dinner services while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
POS & Money Management
Accurately process food and beverage orders using the Point of Sale system, manage cash and credit card transactions, balance your till, and complete end-of-shift reconciliation.
Cleanliness & Organization Champion
Maintain a clean, organized bar and dining room while adhering to all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards.
What We're Looking For
- Previous restaurant serving experience required; bartending experience preferred
- Knowledge of craft cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits—or a genuine desire to learn
- Outstanding hospitality skills with the ability to make every guest feel welcome
- A positive, energetic personality that thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
- A team-first attitude with a willingness to jump in wherever needed
- Professional appearance and confidence working both independently and collaboratively
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
