Full Job Description

Stout's at the Shore is a fine dining destination at Cinnamon Shore, and we're looking for an Executive Chef to lead our kitchen with skill, creativity, and heart. We've built a close-knit team that feels like family — for both our guests and our staff — and we want a culinary leader who shares that commitment. If you're passionate about exceptional food and genuine hospitality, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do

Lead and develop the culinary team — Mentor, manage, and inspire kitchen staff. Participate in hiring and build a positive, growth-oriented environment.
Own the menu and daily operations — Develop menus and daily specials, create prep lists, and uphold the consistency and integrity of every dish.
Manage food costs and inventory — Monitor food costing, maintain proper storage and rotation, and drive performance through efficient kitchen management.
Maintain standards and compliance — Ensure full compliance with health codes and regulations. Establish cleaning and maintenance schedules for all equipment and work areas.
Champion the guest experience — Actively seek ways to improve service, build loyalty, and lead by example in delivering the best food in town.

What we're looking for

Culinary expertise: Strong command of culinary techniques, recipe development, and current food trends
Leadership: Proven ability to lead high-volume kitchens and build a motivated, accountable team
Health & safety knowledge: Deep understanding of sanitation laws and food safety practices
Technical skills: Excellent knife skills; basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; formal culinary training or degree preferred
3–5 years of experience in high-volume kitchen environments
Previous kitchen management experience required
ServSafe Manager certification required

Compensation & expectations

Competitive salary with bonus potential tied to food cost control and overall restaurant performance. This role requires a minimum of 45 hours on-site per week. We invest in our team through ongoing training and constructive feedback — because a strong kitchen starts with strong people.
