Full Job Description

Are you a CNC & Manual Brake Press Operator looking to put your skills to work on precision, high-quality fabrication projects? MADICORP is currently recruiting experienced operators for a contract assignment for a custom metal fabricator specializing in precision stamping and heavy-gauge metal stamping.

In this role, you'll set up and operate TRUMPF CNC and manual press brakes to bend, form, and shape precision sheet metal and plate components to exact print specifications. You'll play a key role in the fabrication process by performing machine setups, selecting tooling, verifying dimensions, and producing high-quality parts while maintaining efficient production workflows and strict quality standards.

Job Summary: Set up and operate TRUMPF CNC and Manual Brake Presses to bend, form, and shape sheet metal and plate components to print specifications. Ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards while maintaining safe, efficient workflow in a production/fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up, program, and operate TRUMPF CNC press brakes for bending/forming operations.
Set up and operate manual brake presses for secondary or specialty bends.
Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, bend charts, and work orders.
Select, install, and adjust tooling and dies; perform minor tooling modifications as required.
Verify dimensions and tolerances using calipers, micrometers, protractors, and other inspection tools.
Make precise adjustments to machine settings to achieve part specifications.
Maintain accurate production records (job tickets, run counts, scrap).
Inspect finished parts for quality and report or correct defects.
Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and continuous improvement efforts.
Follow and enforce all safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred.
2+ years experience operating CNC press brakes and manual brake presses (or equivalent fabrication experience).
Proven ability to read blueprints and perform basic fabrication math.
Familiarity with CNC control interfaces and basic programming preferred.
Experience with tooling selection, setup, and manual bending techniques.
Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.

Skills and Competencies:

Attention to detail and quality-focused.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
Basic computer skills for entering job data and reading electronic drawings.

Working Conditions:

Manufacturing/fabrication shop environment (noise, metalworking dust, cutting fluids).
Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying temperatures.
Regular use of PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection).

Physical Requirements:

Lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly; assist with heavier parts using hoists or team lifts.
Bend, stoop, reach, and use hands for repetitive tasks.

Preferred:

Forklift certification, laser/optical measuring experience, experience with CNC backgauges and crowning systems, prior work with mild steel, stainless, and aluminum.

Pay: $28.00 per hour
