Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Events to lead our organization’s event strategy and execution. This pivotal role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and management of a diverse portfolio of events that elevate brand presence, foster community engagement, and support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a passion for event marketing, and a proven track record of managing large-scale events within the hospitality or related industries. As a key driver of our events initiatives, you will inspire teams, negotiate with vendors, and ensure every event delivers an outstanding experience for attendees and stakeholders alike.

Duties

Develop comprehensive event strategies aligned with organizational objectives to maximize impact and engagement.
Lead end-to-end event planning processes, including venue selection, logistics coordination, catering arrangements, and technical setup.
Manage event budgets meticulously, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards; oversee vendor negotiations and contract management.
Oversee the creation and execution of marketing campaigns to promote events through various channels such as social media, email marketing, and partnerships.
Coordinate with sales and hospitality teams to upsell event packages and enhance revenue opportunities through innovative offerings.
Utilize event management software and CRM systems to track attendee data, streamline operations, and measure event success metrics.
Lead a team of event planners and support staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on excellence in customer service and guest experience.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, licensing requirements, and contractual obligations related to each event.
Cultivate strong relationships with clients, vendors, venues, and sponsors to negotiate favorable terms and secure repeat business.
Implement post-event evaluations to gather feedback, analyze performance data, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Proven experience in managing large-scale events within the hospitality industry or related sectors such as hotels or restaurants; banquet or catering experience is highly desirable.
Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to upsell services and secure advantageous contracts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with familiarity with event management software and CRM systems.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to effectively liaise with clients, vendors, team members, and stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing diverse teams while fostering a positive work environment.
Experience in event marketing strategies that drive attendance and engagement through innovative promotional tactics.
Knowledge of budgeting principles for managing large events efficiently while maximizing revenue streams.
Hospitality or hotel industry experience is preferred; familiarity with guest services, catering operations, contracts, and fundraising activities is a plus.
Strong technical proficiency in audio/visual equipment setup, banquet operations, or other relevant hospitality technologies is advantageous.
