Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dermatology Front Desk Receptionist to join our practice Divergent Dermatology and Aesthetics. In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and a welcoming environment for all visitors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care excellence within a fast-paced dermatology practice.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and efficiently check them in and out using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
Schedule appointments accurately, coordinate follow-ups, and manage clinic calendars with precision.
Collect and verify patient insurance information, including health insurance knowledge related to Medicare and other plans, ensuring proper medical billing and coding procedures are followed.
Handle incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies and clinical confidentiality standards.
Assist with medical records management, filing, and electronic health records (EHR) management using systems like eClinicalWorks or similar platforms.
Support medical administrative functions such as data entry, typing (including 10-key typing), filing, and maintaining organized patient files.
Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and documentation review for billing accuracy.
Maintain a clean, organized front desk area while adhering to office procedures and health information management protocols.

Requirements

Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably within dermatology or a clinic environment.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
Knowledge of medical billing processes including medical collection practices and health insurance procedures.
Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), Medicare policies, and documentation review processes.
Excellent customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
Experience working in dental clinics or healthcare facilities with strong clerical experience is advantageous.
Understanding of clinical confidentiality policies aligned with HIPAA regulations is essential.
