Overview:
This position will develop and manage project plans, timelines, product material cost and then present the data clearly, concisely and accurately to necessary stakeholders involved. This position requires robust experience in project/program planning and management, developing, maintaining and executing reporting throughout the organization. Strong utilization of project planning tools is a mandatory skill set. The R&D and Commercialization Supervisor is required to interface with cross-functional parties at all levels of the organization, including R&D, Operations, and Procurement, as well as relevant technical and execution resources in Engineering. The role will interact with Supply Chain management resources in making manufacturing sourcing decisions and capacity management assessments to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled and the best cost solution is developed for any transitioned or new products. The R&D and Commercialization Supervisor will also own the creation and management of PIP’s and specifications for all products, coordination of plant trials and data gathering during testing, leading new ingredient sourcing and costing with Procurement and ensuring all customer requirements are being met. .
Job Duties Include: (but are not limited to)
- Lead commercialization effort for transitioning SKUs, new product projects, and platform innovation programs.
- Define network capability (capacity/technology) in support of capability assessment of Pegasus as well as other external manufacturers.
- Partner with External Manufacturing managers and external procurement teams to deliver against commercialization activities outside of current Pegasus capabilities.
- Partner with Sales to ensure all customer requirements and project needs are met.
- Responsible for ensuring product specifications and formulas are updated.
- Responsible for planning and coordinating production trials of new products.
- Responsible for communication of new products, new labels/label updates, customer requirements, and formulas/formula updates to FSQA personnel for regulatory approval.
- Ensure effective team engagement, review project timelines and cost projections regularly with the key members of management.
- Drive improvement and optimization of Commercialization process, post-launch process and R&D record keeping.
- Facilitate creation of mitigation/contingency plans and manage communication for any disruptions in the game plan.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related discipline preferred.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in a commercialization environment and new product development.
