Full Job Description

Job Summary

An established, physician-led orthopedic and interventional pain practice is hiring an experienced PA or NP. You will carry your own panel, evaluate and manage musculoskeletal patients, perform office-based injections daily, and support physician consults and follow-ups — backed by on-site physicians, dedicated support staff, and established clinical protocols.

This is a hands-on clinical role in a high-volume practice, with real procedural experience and room to grow. It is not an entry-level position.

THE ROLE

– Evaluate and manage new and established patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions — orthopedic injuries, spine disorders, sports injuries, post-operative care, and trauma — developing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising/delegating physician.

– Perform office-based procedures daily, including trigger point injections, large and small joint injections, and other minor orthopedic procedures within your training and practice protocols.

– Review imaging studies and radiology reports (X-ray, CT, MRI) and correlate findings with the clinical presentation in collaboration with the supervising/delegating physician.

– See physician consults, overflow, and post-procedure follow-ups, keeping physician schedules focused on procedural and surgical work.

– Key player on procedure days — patient preparation, imaging and documentation review, pre-procedure workup, and coordination with physicians and staff.

– Conduct scheduled telemedicine visits for patients in Texas and the additional states where the practice is licensed, consistent with each state’s scope-of-practice and supervision requirements.

– Prescribe and manage medications using evidence-based guidelines, including controlled-substance stewardship and PDMP review.

– Prepare clear, well-supported documentation for personal injury patients, including narrative reports addressing diagnosis, causation, treatment, and prognosis where clinically appropriate, and participate in case-related proceedings involving your own patients (record affidavits, deposition, and occasional trial testimony).

– Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, recovery expectations, and preventive care.

– Maintain accurate, timely EMR documentation that supports continuity of care and meets HIPAA and practice standards.

– Coordinate care with imaging centers, physical therapy, surgery scheduling, and referring physicians, and collaborate daily with physicians, therapists, and nursing staff.

– Obtain and maintain additional state licensure, with applications, fees, and administrative support provided by the practice.

WHAT YOU BRING

– Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited PA or NP program, plus national certification (NCCPA or AANP/ANCC).

– Current unrestricted Texas PA or NP license. NP applicants must also hold a current unrestricted Texas RN license.

– Minimum 3 years of post-graduate clinical experience in orthopedics, interventional pain, spine, sports medicine, or musculoskeletal care — including at least 2 years reviewing musculoskeletal imaging and building treatment plans from those findings.

– Demonstrated proficiency with office-based injections, including trigger point and joint injections.

– Current DEA registration, or the ability to obtain one before your start date.

– Willingness to obtain and maintain licensure in the additional states where the practice provides telemedicine services. The practice pays all fees and manages the process; a clean licensure history and the ability to complete state requirements (fingerprinting, verifications, state-specific CE) are required.

– Strong EMR documentation skills.

– Current BLS certification, excellent clinical judgment, and a collaborative approach.

PREFERRED

– Bilingual (English/Spanish), based on the needs of our patient population.

– Personal injury experience — evaluation, treatment, and documentation of motor vehicle collision and other traumatic musculoskeletal injuries.

– Existing licensure in one or more states outside Texas or ability to apply.

– Experience assisting with fluoroscopic or ultrasound-guided interventional pain procedures.

– Prior telemedicine experience.

– ACLS certification.

SCHEDULE & PRACTICE

– Schedule. Monday through Friday, with specialty clinics two evenings per week. Full-time, exempt.

– Call. No hospital call. No weekend call.

– Volume. Typically 18–25 patients per day, with daily office-based procedures and physician consult support.

– Setting. Primarily on-site at our Dallas/Mid-Cities clinic, with a scheduled telemedicine component. This is not a remote position.

– Structure. Supervision and prescriptive authority are governed by a written delegation/prescriptive authority agreement consistent with Texas requirements, and by the requirements of each state in which you treat patients.

– Autonomy. You will carry your own panel and manage patients with meaningful day-to-day independence, supported by on-site physicians and established protocols, with expanded responsibilities available as you gain experience within the practice.

– Contingencies. Offers are contingent on background check, license and certification verification, and payer credentialing where applicable.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

– Base salary. $[135,000]–$[155,000] annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

– Bonus. Annual discretionary performance bonus based on productivity, quality metrics, teamwork, and overall contribution to the practice.
