Full Job Description

MCI is a 46-year-old industry leader in the design, manufacture, and assembly of electrical controls, electrical enclosures, irrigation pumps and controls, municipal and commercial pump stations, water purification systems and design-to-order metal fabrications. We serve a variety of industries with standard and custom products including water pumping, oil production-drill and refining controls, waste water treatment, conveying, baggage conveying, handling, process control, and more!

Under the supervision of the Shop Manager, the Laser Operator will primarily operate and maintain CO2 Engraving and Cutting Lasers along with related tools and equipment. Additionally, they may undertake various production activities such as assembling parts, operating machinery, and maintaining the equipment and shop floor.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Key Responsibilities:

$500 sign on bonus
Performance review after 6 months
Operate CNC laser engraving and cutting machines, and assist other machine operators as needed.
Prefer experience with TRUMPF TRUSTORE 3030 machine.
Set up lenses, load programs, adjust machine parameters, and fixtures for optimal equipment performance.
Establish proper stop locations and adjust laser beam focal points.
Create and edit laser cut files from CAD drawings using software like Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator.
Manage and maintain files to ensure consistent revision levels.
Monitor chiller system and process gases, and report reordering levels.
Demonstrate acute attention to detail and focus on assigned tasks.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
Conduct dimensional inspections.
Identify and report defective materials or irregular conditions.
Execute typical machine shop operations to aid in the production and fabrication of plastic parts.
Possess a fundamental understanding of machine functions to fulfill assigned tasks.
Accept supervision and assistance in machine set-up as needed.
Work autonomously with minimal supervision following work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
Adhere to proper safety protocols and wear appropriate safety equipment at all times.
Contribute positively to maintaining a safe, organized, and tidy workplace environment.
