Executive Assistant to CEO And COO

UNC Health Nash (UNC Nash) has exclusively retained Ironside Human Resources to identify their next Executive Assistant to CEO And COO. UNC Nash is a county-owned, non-profit managed affiliate of UNC Health Care, a leading national healthcare system. It serves eastern North Carolina through four hospitals, including the acute care facility, Nash General Hospital (260 licensed beds), Nash Day Hospital, Coastal Plain Hospital (Behavioral Health), and Bryant T. Aldridge Rehabilitation Center. UNC Nash’s partnership with UNC Health provides access to clinical expertise, innovation, resources, and research that enhance care for the communities it serves.
The Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative and strategic support to the President/ Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Board of Commissioners.
This role serves as a key partner to executive leadership and is a highly visible representative of the organization. The role manages priorities, facilitates communication, and ensures efficient executive operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage complex calendars, meetings, communications and priorities for the CEO, COO and Board of Commissioners.
2. Anticipate needs and prepare leaders for meetings and decisions.
3. Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
4. Draft and review correspondence, reports, and presentations.
5. Coordinate board meetings and all related logistics, materials and communications.
6. Maintain accurate meeting minutes for Board meetings and committees.
7. Manage sensitive and confidential information.
8. Support special projects and organizational initiatives.
9. Serves as Notary Public for organizational needs.
10. Maintain a polished and professional presence.
11. All other duties as assigned.
Other Information:
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or related field.
License/Certification Requirements:
- Administrative Professional certification is highly desirable.
Professional Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years supporting senior executives in a complex organization.
- Proven experience recording, transcribing and managing meeting minutes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
- Active Notary Public commission in the state of North Carolina (or must be obtained within the first six months of employment).

- Excellent interpersonal communication (written and verbal).
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills tailored to a wide-variety of stakeholders (front-line staff, physicians, board members, community members, patients, system executives, vendors, etc.)
- High level of discretion and judgment. Tact and diplomacy in representing the hospital’s management to the public, staff, patients and community.
