Position: Field Facilities & Maintenance Manager
Reports To: Director of Development- 7 Brew (Glow Brands)
Location: Greater Twin Cities market
Summary:
The primary function of a Field Facilities & Maintenance Manager is to ensure that every 7 Brew location operates at peak efficiency, minimizes downtime, and maintains brand standards as the platform scales from initial openings to a multi-unit portfolio. The Field Facilities & Maintenance Manager is responsible for protecting and optimizing the performance of all operating store assets across the Twin Cities & Montana markets. The Field Facilities & Maintenance Manager serves as the bridge between development, construction, and operations, supporting new store openings while building systems to sustain long-term asset performance. All positions begin with a 6-month probationary period.
What Success Looks Like:
- Stores open on-time, fully operational, and defect-free.
- Equipment uptime maintained at >98% across all locations.
- Preventative maintenance system fully implemented by store #5–7.
- Vendor network built and optimized for speed, cost, and reliability.
- Facilities program scalable to support 50+ units across both markets.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Store Maintenance & Asset Management
- Oversee all maintenance and repair activity across operating locations.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment, building, and site issues in real-time.
- Maintain performance of critical systems:
-Drive-thru equipment & ordering systems.
-Refrigeration & beverage systems.
-Electrical, plumbing, HVAC.
-Site elements (pavement, stacking lanes, lighting, signage).
2. Build Preventative Maintenance Program & Systems
- Design and implement a preventative maintenance program.
- Establish inspection schedules, checklists, and reporting protocols
- Coordinate annual inspections and testing of life safety systems.
- Track asset lifecycle and replacement planning.
- Develop and manage annual facilities budgets.
-Maintain rolling 5-year and 10-year asset replacement forecasts.
- Build SOPs that can scale across 50+ locations.
- This is not just execution—this is system creation.
3. New Store Opening Support
- Partner with development & construction during final 30 days pre-opening.
- Participate in:
- Punchlist walk thrus.
- Equipment startup & commissioning.
- Final readiness inspections.
- Zero operational defects at opening.
-Smooth transition from construction to operations.
4. Vendor & Contractor Management
- Build and manage a bench of preferred vendors:
- HVAC
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Equipment service
-General maintenance (snow plowing, lawn care services, etc)
- Negotiate service agreements and response SLAs.
- Ensure rapid response times and cost control.
5. Rapid Response & Field Execution
- Act as first responder for high-priority issues.
- Triage problems and determine:
- Fix immediately
- Dispatch vendor
- Escalate replacement
- Minimize downtime and protect revenue.
6. Facilities Data & Reporting
-Maintenance costs per store
-Downtime incidents
-Recurring issues
- Identify trends and implement solutions.
-Report insights to leadership to improve:
-Design standards
-Equipment selection
7. Cross-Functional Integration
- Work closely with:
- Development (site-specific risks, warranty tracking)
- Construction (deficiency resolution)
- Operations (store-level issues & feedback)
- Create a closed-loop system between: Development → Build → Operate → Improve
Work Schedule Requirements:
- Works a flexible schedule.
- Works a minimum of 45–50 hours per week, based on business needs.
- Must maintain a presence in the field across all assigned stands.
- Must be available to respond promptly to operational needs across all locations, unless on approved time off.
- Must attend regional and company-wide meetings as required.
- Must request time off at least 14 days in advance for approval.
- Any deviations from these requirements must be approved in advance by leadership.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in multi-unit QSR, coffee, or retail facilities.
- Thrives in fast-growth, startup-style environments.
- Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving ability.
- Acts with a sense of urgency.
- Able to operate both:
- In the field (hands-on)
- At a systems level (process-driven)
Preferred Background:
- 5–10+ years in:
- Multi-site maintenance leadership
- Retail operations support
- QSR facilities management
- Experience supporting:
- Drive-thru or high-volume service models
- Rapid unit expansion (10+ openings/year preferred)
- Project management administration software experience.
- Bluebeam Revu or Adobe PDF suite knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
- Can lift up to 50lbs.
- Can team-lift items up to 100 lbs.
- Can stand comfortably for up to 8 hours at a time.
- Can climb a ladder that is up to 12 ft tall and use a step ladder.
- Can stand, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as necessary.
- Can safely walk between and around cars in the drive thru lanes.
- Can safely use a utility knife.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle and travel independently between locations.
