At Community Pharmacy, our mission is to care for the whole patient over a lifetime, rather than just at the checkout counter. We are building a pharmacy practice where we use our skills and expertise to provide innovative and comprehensive healthcare above and beyond the dispensing of medication. Our staff are patient focused. not pill-focused. Our patients can count on us to show up and treat them as family. Community Pharmacy is looking to add to our team of people willing to work together and support one another in the role each perform to care for our patients. Pharmacy Care Specialist/Pharmacy Technician

Objective: Work closely with community health workers, delivery specialists, pharmacy technicians, interns and pharmacists to provide excellent service to our patients both in the store and via telephone.

Required education: High school diploma or GED certificate

Previous experience: Customer service and patient care experience highly preferred but not required

Skills/Characteristics required:

· Strong customer service and communication skills

· Detail-oriented

· Patient-centered and culturally competent

· Able to adapt to and work in a fast-paced environment

· Use discretion to maintain patient privacy

· Demonstrate basic computer and point-of-sale system (POS)/register skills

· Able to work independently and as a member of a team

· Interpret and/or translate (from English to Spanish and vice versa) to aid in verbal and/or written communications between pharmacy staff members and patients/caregivers

Functions:

· Welcome patients as they arrive at the pharmacy

· Answer phone calls promptly, providing a solution for the caller or redirecting them to the appropriate team member to do so

· Contact patients to provide updates regarding their prescription orders and expected completion time

· Utilize point-of-sale (POS) system to check patients out/collect payments

· Perform reminder phone calls to patients

· Maintain cleanliness of work areas and front end of pharmacy

· Process orders and stock retail/OTC items

· Maintain and stock POS supplies

· Maintain Will Call Bin of prescriptions ready for pickup

· Assist Pharmacy Manager in basic administrative and organizational tasks

A clean background check is required for licensure with the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy. Persons who have been convicted of a felon will not be considered for employment. The schedule for this position will be daily Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays (typically every 3rd Saturday from 8:30AM-1:15PM). Which of the following weekly work schedules (Monday-Friday) work best for you:

10:15AM-6:15PM

Experience:

pharmacy or healthcare-related: 1 year (Preferred)
