Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Pulaski County Tourism Bureau is seeking an experienced Director of Sales & Marketing to lead destination marketing, group sales, brand positioning, and tourism promotion for Pulaski County, Missouri. This position reports to the Executive Director.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can also execute. This person should be comfortable developing marketing plans, managing projects and budgets, tracking results, working with vendors and partners, and turning ideas into measurable results.

Primary Responsibilities

· Develop, execute, and help manage the annual marketing and sales plan in coordination with the Executive Director.
· Oversee destination branding, advertising, media placement, digital campaigns, website content, visitor guide development, and promotional campaigns.
· Manage marketing projects, campaign timelines, vendors, agencies, designers, media partners, printers, photographers, and other outside partners to ensure consistent messaging.
· Lead sales efforts focused on groups, meetings, conferences, events, reunions, trade shows, partnerships, and business.
· Track marketing performance, campaign results, lodging trends, lead quality, visitor data, and return on investment.
· Prepare clear marketing, sales, and performance updates for the Executive Director, and other entities as requested.
· Develop public relations opportunities, press releases, media pitches, story ideas, and community messaging.
· Represent the bureau at trade shows, conferences, community events, tourism meetings, and public functions.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in marketing, sales, communications, public relations, hospitality, tourism, business development, or a related field.
· Strong understanding of marketing strategy, branding, digital advertising, social media, website content, email marketing, and public relations.
· Experience developing marketing plans, managing campaigns, working with budgets, and tracking performance results.
· Strong writing, speaking, organization, and project management skills.
· Comfortable using data, analytics, and reporting tools to guide decisions and measure results.
· Ability to work with a small team, leadership, community partners, vendors, board members, business owners, and public officials.
· Experience with group sales, event recruitment, trade shows, or partnership development preferred.
· Knowledge of tools such as Google Analytics, Canva, website platforms, social media scheduling tools, email marketing platforms, or similar systems preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, hospitality, tourism, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
· Some evening, weekend, and travel availability required.
