Summary/Objective
The Buyer II will be responsible for strategic souring of assigned commodities/services consistent with Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures. Drives down total cost of ownership and contributes to the performance and profitability of the Company using supply chain expertise to deliver value through complete, effective market research, supplier strategy development and negotiation strategy planning. The buyer is required to interface and/or negotiate with vendors, internal/external clients, and various departments such as accounting, quality, IT, etc.; thus, must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently.

Buyer II position is responsible for reviewing request, working with vendors and internal/external clients.
- Manage relationships with supplier through supporting activities including ordering, communication of demand/volume/ delivery time changes, issue resolution, sharing of end-user feedback, providing update of order status, runs open Purchase Order Reports.
- Amends or closes Purchase orders.
- Analyzes, negotiates, and issues RFQ’s to suppliers for new and existing materials, supplies and services.
- Develop, implement, and manage strategies to support the supply chain process for assigned commodities/services, or areas of responsibilities.
- Research and develop a working knowledge of the assigned commodities/services or areas of responsibilities, including how the commodities/services are made, rendered, specification requirements, and how the commodities/services are used.
- Research and analyze inventory consumption, outstanding delivery orders and provide recommendations for ordering.
- Develop a strong understanding and knowledge of suppliers and capabilities.
- Ensure quality/stable supply of materials/services, monitor the timeliness of the deliveries/performance, and identify patterns.
- Work with client to formulate and define scope and objective of purchases.
- Analyze and process purchase requisitions.
- Acquire and manage procurements; provide appropriate materials, supplies and services for day-to-day requirements, as well as, emergent work, overhauls, projects; and focus on the strategic procurement while conducting complex negotiations under aggressive time demands.
- Develop negotiation plans with end-user clients to ensure cost are thoroughly understood, including identifying pricing components.
- Provide detailed analysis and information which may have financial impact on commodity sourcing decisions; perform trend analysis and make recommendations to clients and management.
- Monitor and manage the vendor/contractor performance, to include expediting materials or services, and dispute resolution.
- Resolve pricing and invoice discrepancies.
- Receive and evaluate bids or proposals or other requirements.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, scope and other issues with vendor(s) as necessary to achieve the desired results.
- Supports Corporate and Department goals.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In order to meet our customer’s demands this role may be required to perform work outside of business hours including weekends.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some international travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor degree in Business, Operations, Finance and/or Supply Chain.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain or Accounting
- SAP experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- 4 year of experience in Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain or Accounting.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Experience with SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
