Full Job Description

Position Overview:

Meritage at Callaway Winery is seeking an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Supervisor to support front-of-house operations during assigned shifts. This working supervisor will provide floor leadership, direct and support FOH employees, help ensure an exceptional guest experience, and maintain service, safety, and operational standards in partnership with the Chef and management team.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

Supervise and provide on-shift direction to FOH staff including hosts, servers, bussers, and bartenders.
Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and hospitality.
Conduct pre-shift meetings and provide timely coaching and feedback to FOH employees; escalate performance concerns to management as appropriate.
Monitor floor coverage during assigned shifts and communicate staffing needs or concerns to management.

Guest Experience

Ensure consistent, high-quality service and a welcoming atmosphere.
Resolve guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
Maintain presence on the floor during service to support team and engage with guests.

Operational Oversight

Manage daily closing procedures.
Monitor and uphold cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards.
Work collaboratively with BOH team to ensure seamless service and communication.
Oversee POS usage, table turns, and reservations systems (e.g., OpenTable).

Financial Accountability

Support labor cost control by monitoring staffing and breaks during assigned shifts in accordance with management direction.
Complete required shift reports and accurately communicate sales, labor, cash-handling, and service issues to management.
Monitor FOH supply and inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to management.

Compliance & Training

Ensure compliance with ABC laws, health codes, and company policies.
Reinforce training on wine knowledge, menu updates, service procedures, and hospitality standards during assigned shifts.
Lead by example in service, presentation, and professionalism.

Qualifications:

2+ years of front-of-house restaurant or hospitality experience; prior lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Proven leadership and team-building skills.
Strong knowledge of wine, food service, and hospitality best practices.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in POS systems, reservation platforms, and basic Microsoft Office tools.
Must be available for the typical Friday-Sunday afternoon/evening schedule, with occasional additional shifts for special events, holidays, or business needs.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Working Conditions:

Must be available to work Friday-Sunday afternoon/evening shifts and occasional additional special-event or holiday shifts as assigned

Exposure to heat, cold, and slippery surfaces in a kitchen environment

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
