We want you as a Before, After School, and Summer Camp Teacher at BEMIS FARMS 2 in Lincoln Consolidated Schools.

Title: School-Age Extended Care Teacher/Before and After-School Care Teacher Hours:

Monday to Friday
6:45-9:00 AM and/or 3:30-6 PM
Potentially Part or Full Time in Summer

Potential Locations: Lincoln

Pay Rate: $14.00 to $19.00 Based on education and experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma required
Current CPR & First Aid Certification preferred
Experience working with children in a licensed childcare facility preferred
Prefer CDA or Associates Degree in Child Care Education or a related field

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the implementation of school-age program activities and encourage participation by children.
Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and daily reports.
Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
Help ensures smooth, daily transitions for children.
Follow all program policies and state regulations.
Maintain personal and professional development plans to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Additional duties as required

Bemis Farms was established in 1994 on 18 acres of farmland in Saline, Michigan. The grounds are filled with gardens and many trees – and the local farmer plants and grow a rotating crop of corn and soybeans. We encourage an outdoor learning environment (OLE) where kids can be more involved and get hands-on experience with nature.

The School Age Assistant supports the School Age Lead Teacher and the Program Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality school-age educational program and developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, the School Age Assistant observes and documents children’s interests and progress and relays that information to parents and staff. School Age Assistants are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and need under the direction of the School Age Lead Teacher and the Program Director.

This position reports to the School Age Lead Teacher.
