Full Job Description

Job Summary
Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist, where your enthusiasm and compassion will make a real difference in the lives of animals and their owners. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional pet care support, assist veterinarians with medical procedures, and ensure smooth front-desk operations. Your energy and dedication will help create a welcoming environment for clients and their beloved pets, fostering trust and confidence in our services. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your veterinary skills while delivering outstanding customer service.

Duties

Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
Assist veterinarian technicians during examinations and procedures by preparing equipment, restraining animals safely, and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques.
Handle animal restraint with care, including dog handling, animal husbandry, and pet grooming to ensure safety for pets and staff alike.
Perform laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing.
Manage medical collections accurately, including billing for services rendered and processing payments at the front desk.
Support kennel operations by caring for hospitalized animals, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their condition.
Ensure the clinic’s cleanliness by disinfecting surfaces, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining an organized work environment.

Experience

Previous experience in veterinary clinics or animal shelters is highly preferred; familiarity with veterinary critical care is a plus.
Knowledge of animal anatomy and restraint techniques is essential for safe handling of dogs and cats.
Hands-on experience with laboratory procedures or medical collections enhances your ability to support diagnostic processes effectively.
Kennel experience or animal husbandry background demonstrates your commitment to compassionate animal care.
Strong understanding of veterinary terminology helps facilitate clear communication within the team.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
