Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: Temple, TX
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Employment Type: Travel / Contract
Open Positions: 4
Schedule: 3x12-Hour Shifts, Weekend Rotation Required

Job Overview

Seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) with a strong cardiac background to join a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role focuses on caring for cardiac patients requiring close monitoring and specialized nursing care, including post-operative cardiac surgery patients and individuals recovering from cardiac procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
Monitor cardiac patients and identify changes in clinical condition
Provide care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including CABG recovery
Monitor patients following cardiac procedures and interventions
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and recovery plans
Document patient care accurately and efficiently
Promote patient safety, quality care, and positive clinical outcomes

Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
Current BLS Certification (AHA)
Current ACLS Certification
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
Strong cardiac care experience
