Position Title: Collection & Litigation Attorney
(Business Contracts & Real Estate / Landlord–Tenant Experience )

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Collection and Litigation Attorney to assist with the enforcement and recovery of contractual obligations, liens, and outstanding balances. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in contract enforcement, debt collection litigation and landlord–tenant law, real estate law knowledge and experience.

This role requires hands-on litigation experience, including filing small claims actions, formal civil lawsuits, conducting depositions, participating in arbitrations, and representing clients in court proceedings. The attorney will work closely with our team to pursue recovery strategies and protect our legal interests.

Key Responsibilities

Initiate and manage collection litigation, including filing small claims and civil lawsuits to recover outstanding balances and enforce contractual obligations.
Represent the company in court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
Handle matters involving real estate disputes, landlord–tenant issues, and contract enforcement.
Draft and file pleadings, motions, briefs, demand letters, and settlement agreements.
Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal databases.
Develop case strategies, organize evidence, and prepare cases for trial or settlement negotiations.
Negotiate settlements and payment resolutions where appropriate while protecting the client’s financial interests.
Maintain accurate documentation of all case activity, filings, and communications.
Provide strategic legal advice regarding collections, litigation risk, and enforcement options.

Qualifications

Licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar.
Proven experience in collections litigation, landlord–tenant law, real estate law, and contract enforcement.
Demonstrated experience filing and litigating small claims and civil lawsuits.
Experience handling depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trial preparation.
Strong legal research skills with proficiency in LexisNexis, Westlaw, or similar platforms.
Excellent legal writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams.

Preferred Experience

Background in Contract law, debt collection litigation or creditor rights.
Familiarity with judgment enforcement, liens, and post-judgment collection strategies.
Experience handling real estate and landlord–tenant disputes related to financial recovery.
