Full Job Description

CRITICAL REQUIREMENT: READ BEFORE APPLYING

You MUST have direct, hands-on experience working with individuals who have a quadriplegic spinal cord injury. This experience must be verified. If you do not have this specific background, do not apply. Applications without relevant experience will be rejected immediately. Please do not waste my time. This is not a "quick money" scheme—this is my life.

Physical Requirements & Patient Transfers

Heavy Lifting & Transfers Required: You must be physically strong, healthy, and capable of lifting/pulling at least 100 to 150 lbs safely.
Equipment Proficiency: You will be responsible for transferring the client out of bed, onto the commode chair, or into a Permobil power wheelchair using a lift and sling system.
Physical Stamina: This is a highly physical role. We need a reliable professional who can handle these transfers consistently without complaining about back or arm pain. If you cannot physically manage heavy transfers, do not apply.

Community Outing Rules

Accompaniment at All Times: You must remain with the client at all times during your shift. If the client leaves the apartment to go to the store, the park, or anywhere else, you are required to go with him. Staying behind in the apartment is not an option. If you cannot or do not want to accompany the client out into the community, do not apply.

Zero-Tolerance Policy on Distractions & Phone Use

Client Care Comes First: Personal matters must never interfere with client care.
Immediate Termination for Phone Use: Your phone must be put away during work hours. If your phone rings or alerts go off during a transfer or care routine, do not stop care to answer it. Stopping client care for personal phone time is considered immediate client neglect and is grounds for automatic termination on the spot.

About the Role & Environment

This is a private, independent home environment. This is NOT a group home, and it is NOT a nursing home, and it will not be treated as one. We are looking for an elite professional who takes pride in providing top-tier care directly inside a client's private residence.

This is a high-engagement, active position assisting a quadriplegic male who currently has an 85% chance of walking again. This is not a "sit on the couch and be on your phone" job. You will be on your feet, actively working, and fully engaged for the entire 5.5-hour shift.

Shift Details & Schedule

Hours: Second Shift, 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM (5.5 hours).
Type: In-person private home care and physical recovery support.
Pay Rate: $23.34 per hour

Duties & Responsibilities

Mandatory Daily Bathing: Complete, proper bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene care is strictly required every single day without exception.
Mobility & Recovery Support: Assist with transferring, positioning, community outings, and active physical recovery routines aimed at helping the client rebuild mobility and independence.
Meal Preparation & Cleanliness: Support with meal preparation and nutritional needs while maintaining an immaculate, safe, and clean environment. No pork or seafood is permitted in the household.
Daily Documentation: Utilize the Connecteam app to accurately log daily care activities, routine tracking, and shift notes.
Paid Pre-Care Training: You will undergo specific, hands-on training to master this individual's precise care routines and transfer techniques before handling shifts independently.

Professional Boundaries: Absolute commitment to keeping your phone put away while on shift. If you neglect your duties, you will be terminated immediately.
Respect & Communication: This is a respectful, professional home. The client will not yell, scream, or treat you with disrespect, and the exact same standard of professional respect is demanded from you.
