Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking an organized Dental Receptionist to join our small family practice! Experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate if needed. In this essential role, you will be the friendly face and efficient coordinator at the front desk, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for every patient. Your energetic approach will help manage patient scheduling, insurance verification, dental records, and administrative support with precision and professionalism. Duties

Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service to create a positive first impression
Schedule and modify appointments
Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including intake and documentation review
Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, answering inquiries and directing calls appropriately
Maintain accurate dental records, medical history forms, and treatment documentation
Process payments
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and managing health information securely
Assist with insurance verification, claim submissions, and follow-up to optimize revenue cycle management
Support clinic operations by filing documents, managing office supplies, and coordinating care plans as needed

Skills

Proven experience in dental office administration or medical receptionist roles with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding practices (recommended)
Familiarity with Dentrix or similar platforms is preferred
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Exceptional phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently
Knowledge of insurance verification processes
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing processes
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanor in a fast-paced environment
