Full Job Description

Location: Eastern U.S. (Washington, DC/Charlotte, NC/Lexington, KY/Norwich, CT/Miami, FL/Atlanta, GA/Richmond, VA)

The Regional Director provides strategic and operational leadership for a portfolio of residential and commercial HVAC businesses across a defined territory, including construction and service offerings. This role holds full P&L accountability for the region and is responsible for delivering profitable growth, operational consistency, and a strong customer experience across all brands and branches. The brand General Managers at each location will report directly to the Regional Director.

Key Responsibilities

Lead overall business performance for multiple HVAC companies in the region, with responsibility for revenue, margins, EBITDA, and achievement of annual operating plans and budgets.
Drive continuous improvement in field operations, project delivery, maintenance programs, and customer service by standardizing best practices and ensuring consistent execution across branches.
Develop and implement regional growth strategies, including market positioning, sales initiatives, customer retention programs, and expansion of construction and maintenance offerings.
Partner with local leaders (general managers, service managers, construction/project managers, and office leaders) to optimize scheduling, staffing, pricing, and resource utilization.
Support sales efforts by cultivating key customer relationships, participating in major pursuits, and helping shape proposals for large projects and strategic accounts.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, productivity, backlog, close rates, callbacks, and customer satisfaction; review performance regularly and hold local leadership accountable.
Recruit, develop, and mentor leaders within the region, building strong management benches and succession plans.
Ensure adherence to company policies, financial controls, and compliance requirements, including safety standards, licensing, and contractual obligations.
Collaborate with DPO HVAC Executive Leadership on budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and long-term strategic initiatives.
Travel regularly to branch locations, customer sites, and job sites to provide hands-on support, assess operations, and reinforce company culture and expectations.

Qualifications

7+ years of progressive leadership experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or building services, with responsibility for multi-site or multi-division operations strongly preferred.
Proven track record of managing P&L and delivering profitable growth in a construction or building services environment.
Experience overseeing both project/construction and maintenance/service lines of business.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop managers and cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
Strong strategic planning, financial acumen, and data-driven decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal teams, customers, general contractors, and vendors.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently (~50%) within the region.
